Removing the Optical Drive
- If you want to remove the optical drive while the computer is
turned on, double-click the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the
taskbar, click the device that you want to eject, and click Stop.
Otherwise go to step 2.
- Open CD Tray, close your display and turn the computer upside down.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 2
x M2.5 x 8-mm screw's indicated by arrows in picture below. (sometimes no2
near screw)
- Gently Pull the device straight out of the
media bay, it should pull out very easy don't use force double check or
ASK.

Installing the Optical Drive
- Slide the new drive into the bay until it snaps securely into
place.
- Replace the 2 x M2.5 x 8-mm screws.
- Turn the computer right-side up and open the display.
- The operating system automatically recognizes the device. If
necessary, enter your password to unlock your computer.
Bracket from your broken/old
drive are easily swapped over and fixed into pre drilled holes on back of drive.

Take Care! If you have to
force it something's not right double check or ASK.
